WASATCH RX

Project Description & Roles

Wasatch Rx a pharmaceutical distribution company located in the Salt Lake City Metro purchased a former aquarium located in Sandy, UT. The plan was to convert the approx. 12,000 SF aquarium into their corporate office including a small distribution center. In order to do as such the owners invested the help of two local A&D firms. Once focusing primarily on the architecture and the other on the interior design and FF&E package.

The latter was able to expound on the architectural changes that were being made to the aquarium creating a turn-key solution for the owners and all of their employees. The most challenging aspect of this project was balancing the client's expectations with their budget and strict security requirements. Many alliterations where made in order to get to a solution that satisfied all.

Zach's roles in this project included all stages of the design process revolving around interior finishes and FF&E. Programing steps included meetings with company leadership to access current work flows and needs for improvement. Schematic design included layouts and 3D models using CET Designer. Design development was accomplished via material samples, still renderings, and live-design with the client in the 3D model. Interior finishes were coordinated with the architect for construction documents while furniture was coordinated directly with in-house installers through install layouts and a full furniture bill of materials. Construction administration involved regular on-site OAC meetings as well as participating in punch walks and coordinating real-time solutions for unforeseen conditions during construction.

(The renderings above were created with CET Designer.)
